The story behind SG Book Compare

I'm a book lover and literature enthusiast based in Singapore. Over the years I've spent countless hours — and no small amount of money — browsing Amazon SG and Kinokuniya Singapore for my next read.
Both stores carry a wide selection, but their prices often differ. A title that's S$5 cheaper on Amazon might ship slower; Kinokuniya lets you browse in person but sometimes costs more. Knowing which is cheaper before I decide matters.
The Problem
My usual shopping workflow was inefficient: open Amazon SG in one tab, search for the book. Open Kinokuniya in another tab, search again. Try to remember which edition was which. Check the prices. Repeat for the next book on my list.
It was tedious, error-prone, and slow. I kept wishing both stores were side by side in a single view.
Why I Built This
So I built SG Book Compare to solve my own problem — one search, both stores, side by side. Search by title or ISBN, see prices from both retailers at a glance, and let the numbers speak for themselves.
It's the tool I always wished existed. I hope fellow Singapore book lovers find it just as useful.

This Final Project is the culmination of my CS50x journey. Thank you CS50.
This is a real product that solves a real problem that I face, so I am motivated to
create this product, to improve my workflow. As a book lover, I spend a lot of time
browsing books, and a lot of money buying books from Amazon SG and Kinokuniya SG.
I also spend a lot of time switching tabs to compare. With this product, hopefully
it would streamline the shopping process, and more time to read and ponder :)
